Steps to connect with Flexpa
Flexpa is a product that allows patients to link their health plan information to any application of their choice.
This guide walks you through the process of connecting a current or past health plan with Flexpa.
#🔔 Requirements before connecting
#Know your health plan's name
Please make sure you know your health plan's name. Your health plan, also known as your health insurance, is different from your health provider. Confusing, we agree, so we're here to help you through it. The easiest way to know who your health plan is, is to check the name on your health insurance card.
#Have an online account
Connecting your data requires an existing online account with your health plan. This online account is where you go to check your deductible, view claims, or find doctors, amongst other things.
If you don't have an online account already, please proceed to your health plan's website to create one before
continuing.
#Steps to connect
#1. Search and select your health plan
Flexpa opens with a few popular health plans displayed along with the option to search for over 200 other health plans that are supported.
You may use the language toggle in the bottom right corner to switch between English, Spanish, and Korean.
Type in the search box for your health plan name as it appears on your insurance card.
The list is sorted by closest match at the top.
If you don't see your plan, please scroll to the bottom of the list and request it so we can prioritize support for your plan.
#2. Provide consent
Flexpa helps you connect your health plan information to applications of your choice.
We take your data privacy and security seriously.
The Flexpa team performs a thorough review of all applications that choose to integrate with Flexpa in advance of allowing them to go live.
By connecting, you agree to all parties' policies.
You can read more about our privacy policy, security, and terms of service at the links provided.
#3. Authorize with your health plan
After clicking continue from the step above, you will be redirected to your health plan's login page. On desktop and mobile, a new tab will open in your browser. Input your member portal username and password. The examples below are from Humana's login and authorization pages.
If you don't have an online account already, look for an option to create an account.
After logging in, you will be asked to authorize the sharing of information with Flexpa.
This part of the process can be tricky depending on your health plan's identity verification requirements. If at any point
during this authorization process you need assistance, flip back to the original application's tab where Flexpa is open and
there will be some frequently encountered errors and steps for resolutions. You can also reference them and more on the Troubleshooting
tips page in more detail.
If these frequently encountered errors don't cover your situation, click Report issue and fill out the form. Our team will be notified and will email you with updates when the issue is fixed,
#4. Redirect back to application
Once you've successfully logged in, you will be automatically redirected back to Flexpa and/or the application you're connecting to.
#5. You're all set!
That's it! You should be good to go with your digital health app now.
We're always looking to improve our guide, so if you have a minute, please send us feedback on whether this guide was helpful to you!
