Steps to connect with Flexpa
This guide walks patients through the process of connecting a current or past health plan with Flexpa.
Flexpa is a product that allows patients to link their health plan information to any application of their choice.
This guide will also provide troubleshooting tips to resolve common issues a patient might encounter during this process.
If you are a developer, you can send this to your users as an onboarding and connection guide.
If you are a patient or digital health app user connecting your health plan to your digital health app account, use this guide to walk through our simple steps for sharing your data with Flexpa.
#1. Search and select your health plan
Flexpa opens with a few popular health plans displayed along with the option to search for over 200 other health plans that are supported.
You may use the language toggle in the bottom right corner to switch between English and Spanish.
Type in the search box for your health plan name as it appears on your insurance card.
The list is sorted by closest match at the top.
If you don't see your plan, please scroll to the bottom of the list and request it so we can prioritize support for your plan.
#2. Provide consent
Flexpa helps you connect your health plan information to applications of your choice.
We take your data privacy and security seriously.
The Flexpa team performs a thorough review of all applications that choose to integrate with Flexpa in advance of allowing them to go live.
By connecting, you agree to all parties' policies.
You can read more about our privacy policy, security, and terms of service at the links provided.
#3. Authorize with your health plan
After clicking continue from the step above, you will be redirected to your health plan's login page.
On desktop and mobile, a new tab will open in your browser.
The examples below are from Humana's login and authorization pages.
After logging in, you will be asked to authorize the sharing of information with Flexpa.
This part of the process can be tricky depending on your health plan's identity verification requirements.
If at any point during this authorization process you need assistance, flip back to the Flexpa tab where there will be troubleshooting tips.
You can also reference them on the troubleshooting tips page.
#4. Redirect back to application
Once you've successfully logged in, you will be automatically redirected back to Flexpa and/or the application you're connecting to.
#5. You're all set!
That's it! You should be good to go with your digital health app now.
