San Francisco, CA | July 27, 2026 – Flexpa has partnered with Sharecare to bring the claims held by a person's health plans, with their permission, into AskMD, Sharecare's next-generation, AI-powered health navigation experience designed to quickly turn a person's health question into a clear next step. This integration helps ensure AskMD provides guidance that is personalized and reflects each individual's real coverage and claims history.

Rather than a chatbot layered on top of health content, AskMD is a private, secure platform that draws on a person's medical history, coverage, claims, provider network, medications, benefits, and available services to help them understand their symptoms, confirm what their plan covers, and find the right care, while augmenting, not replacing, the role of licensed clinicians. It brings together capabilities Sharecare has built over its 15 years into a single connected experience.

Flexpa is one of a number of key partners Sharecare has brought into AskMD as part of a broader collaboration aligned with CMS's Health Technology Ecosystem initiative. Flexpa powers the patient-authorized claims connection. With a few taps and clear consent, a person can authorize Flexpa to bring their claims history into AskMD, including the diagnoses, procedures, and medications on record with their health plan. Flexpa's FHIR-native platform standardizes that data through a single interface, drawing on payer claims made available under the CMS-9115-F Patient Access API. The same connection gives people a portable, FHIR-structured view of their claims history that they can carry and share, cutting repetitive paperwork.

"Most health tools guess. AskMD reasons. Grounding that reasoning in a person's full health picture, including their claims history, is what closes the knowledge gap that nearly every American struggles with today," said Faisal Sublaban, EVP, AskMD at Sharecare. "Flexpa gives us patient-authorized access to what a health plan already knows about someone's care, medications, and coverage. When AskMD's health intelligence layer puts that knowledge to work, it gives people the clarity and confidence to take control of their own health."

"We think of Flexpa as the records layer for AI health agents. The normalization work we do by taking raw claims from across the health system and transforming them into structured and usable data helps AskMD give you an answer that actually knows your coverage and your history. That matters," said Andrew Arruda, Co-Founder and CEO of Flexpa.

All data access is patient-authorized through Flexpa's consent management system, consistent with CMS Patient Access API standards, and people choose what to share and can revoke access at any time. Flexpa has earned the DiMe Seal and is listed in the CMS Medicare App Library, independent credentials that vet patient-facing health apps for privacy, security, and usability.
